Signing Up.

In order to sign up for the APA Padel Ladder, you and your team-mate must be Padel Canada as well as Padel Alberta members in good standing.

To sign-up for entry in the ladder, please submit an email with the contact information of the 2 people that are in your team (using email link below).  There is a $10 charge per Ladder Participant per season.  A Ladder Participant can be in any number of teams.  Ladder entry fees will be used to purchase prizes at season end.

Your team will be placed in the ladder in a position to be determined by the ladder administrator (typically at or slightly below your “perceived” level of play).

After signing up, you will receive an email containing the contact information of current Ladder team members.

Making Challenges.

Your team is allowed to officially challenge an opposing team 1 to 3 positions above you in the ladder.

You may submit your Challenge request via the APA website, along with 2 potential match dates within the subsequent 10 day window (using the email link below). Be sure to CC the challenged parties (their email addresses are on the Padel Ladder contact sheet that was sent to you).

Alternatively, you can organize your match without using the APA website,  as long as the results are communicated using the "Report Ladder Match Result" email link below.

The challenged parties have 10 days to make a reasonable attempt at competing with you, either on the times/dates you suggest, or on other time dates they suggest, that are agreeable to you,  within the 10 day window.  It is up to you to set the time/date and to play your match.  Please refer to the Padel Canada  web-site re. court availability.

All matches are best of  3 sets with tie-breaks if a set goes to 6-6.  Official rules of padel are to be followed.

New tennis balls are to be provided by the challengers.

To challenge a team on the ladder, please use the following email link, being sure to CC the challenged parties: Request Ladder Challenge.

Reporting Results.

Winning teams should report results, including date match was played and game scores.  Results will be posted on web-site.

If  the challenger team wins, then their position in the ladder will be changed to be immediately above the challenged team on the ladder and reflected on the APA Ladder web-page ASAP (typically within 24 hours).

No position change will occur if the challenger team loses.

To report a ladder match results, please use the following email link: Report Ladder Match Result.

Accepting/Rejecting Challenges.

If your team is challenged by another team, and you haven’t played the same team within the last 7 days, it is up to you whether to accept or reject such challenge.  If you accept the challenge then you should make reasonable efforts to work with the challenging team to come up with a time for a match (either on one of the time/dates they suggest or on one of two or three time/dates you suggest within the 10 day window).

Should you reject the challenge, or cannot play at any time within the 10 day window, without a reasonable excuse (such as you are out of town for 2 weeks, etc.) then your team will be deemed to have lost the match and ladder standings will be adjusted accordingly.

Any reasons for rejecting a challenge should be communicated to the ladder administrator.

To report that you are rejecting a ladder challenge, please use the following email link: Report Ladder Challenge Rejection.

Prizes.

  4. Best Ladies team.
